Devansh is two years old. He was born in 2019. His parents Nagarajan and Rajeshwari belong to Guttimandal in Anantapur District. When the baby was 5 months old he had very bad congestion and phlegm. He was taken to Anantpur District Hospital where doctors realised it was more than a chest congestion and suggested they take the baby to Chennai to Children’s Hospital at Egmore. Here, the child was given initial treatment but subsequently they were directed to come to MIOT Hospitals for further evaluation and treatment. The baby went through a Cath procedure and thereafter was medically managed until now.
On a recent review visit, Doctors decided to take up the surgery.
Devansh is diagnosed to have Scimitar syndrome, PAPVC of Right middle and lower pulmonary veins, Two systemic collaterals from abdominal Aorta to R Lower lobe.
Treatment –To undergo Elective surgery – Rerouting of the right pulmonary veins to LA+Clipping /coil embolization of aortopulmonary collateral and cardiac Cath prior to surgery for correction of the same.
Estimate Cost – Rs.3,00,000 including surgery, ICU & Hospital stay, Post op investigations and medications
Devansh’s father Nagaraj, is a driver. His mother Rajeshwari is a housewife. They have been trying to save money for this surgery but the lockdown and pandemic have taken a big toll on their earnings.
