Meet Rakesh and Dinesha, a young couple from Ponneri, whose lives revolve around their precious little one, Saathvik. Saathvik, a vibrant year-and-a-half-old, has brought immense joy into their lives since the moment he was born. However, their journey has taken an unexpected turn as Saathvik battles congenital heart issues.
At just three months old, Saathvik experienced severe chest congestion, prompting his parents to seek medical attention. To their dismay, they learned that their beloved son has been grappling with a significant heart condition: Large Perimembraneous VSD, small additional muscular VSD, and congenital mitral valve abnormality with moderate to severe MS.
The news was a heavy blow to the family, but they remained steadfast in their determination to provide Saathvik with the best possible care. After consulting with pediatric specialists, it became evident that early surgery is imperative to address Saathvik's condition effectively. The recommended procedure includes VSD Closure, Resection of supramitral membrane, and mitral valve repair.
However, the financial burden associated with such a complex surgery weighs heavily on Rakesh and Dinesha. As Rakesh diligently works as a contract laborer at Ashok Leyland in Ennore, his earnings are solely dedicated to supporting his family's basic needs. With no permanent job security and the added expenses of Saathvik's medical care, the family finds themselves in a challenging situation.
The estimated cost for Saathvik's surgery, ICU and hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications amounts to Rs. 3,00,000. For Rakesh and Dinesha, this amount is beyond their means, leaving them feeling overwhelmed and helpless.
In this time of adversity, Rakesh and Dinesha turn to their community, seeking compassion and support. They believe that with the collective efforts of kind-hearted individuals, they can give Saathvik the chance at a healthy and fulfilling life that he deserves.
