    We are happy to share a heartfelt update regarding Baby Sastivel.

    Sastivel was admitted to the hospital on 27th April, and his heart surgery was successfully completed on 2nd May. Following the surgery, he faced several complications and had to remain in the ICU until yesterday under continuous monitoring.

    We are relieved to inform you that, after overcoming these critical challenges, Sastivel has shown good improvement. Today, he has been shifted to the normal ward after careful observation and stabilization of his health.

    This recovery has not been easy, and it would not have been possible without your timely support, generosity, and continued contributions towards children in need.

    Your kindness has played a vital role in saving this little life and giving him a chance at a healthier future.

    We would like to share an important update regarding Baby Sastivel.

    His scheduled heart surgery has been postponed, as he is currently suffering from severe cold and cough. Based on the doctor’s advice, this is not the right time to proceed with surgery, as it may pose risks to his health.

    The medical team is closely monitoring his condition, and once he recovers and is fit for surgery, a new date for admission will be scheduled.

    We will keep you informed with further updates as soon as we receive confirmation from the hospital.

Dear Donors/Supporters,

We are sharing the medical appeal of Sastivel, a 4-month-old baby boy from Gummidipoondi, Thiruvallur district, who is fighting a life-threatening heart condition at a very tender age.

When Sastivel was just 2 months old, his parents rushed him to Government Stanley Hospital after he developed breathing difficulties. Until then, there were no visible symptoms, and the family had no idea that their baby was living with a serious congenital heart defect. The diagnosis came as a devastating shock.

He was later referred to a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospital. After detailed evaluation, doctors diagnosed him with a Large Perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) along with a moderate indirect Gerbode defect. Initially, doctors advised medications and close follow-ups, hoping surgery could be delayed.

Sadly, within just one month, Sastivel’s condition worsened. He was admitted to the hospital twice due to repeated respiratory infections and poor weight gain. His fragile body is struggling to cope, and doctors have now advised early open-heart surgery as the only option to save his life. The planned procedure includes VSD closure and tricuspid valve repair.

The total cost of this life-saving surgery is ₹3,25,000.


Sastivel’s father, Mr. Seetharaman, works as a bike mechanic with an unstable monthly income of around ₹10,000–₹15,000. After managing daily household expenses and shop rent, arranging such a large amount is impossible for the family. Despite their desperate efforts, they have no means to fund their child’s treatment.

Every passing day puts Sastivel at greater risk. Without timely surgery, his chances of survival and a healthy future are severely threatened.
