Master Nilan, a two-year-old boy from Krishnagiri District, has been fighting for every breath since he was just three months old. What began as frequent episodes of severe breathing difficulty, persistent cold, and cough soon turned into a heartbreaking diagnosis that changed his family's life forever.

His worried parents first rushed him to a nearby private clinic, where doctors suspected a congenital heart disease. He was subsequently referred to higher medical centres and underwent evaluations at various Government Hospitals. Hoping for a better future for their son, the family later attended a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at the Krishnagiri Government Hospital.

Following the screening, Nilan was referred to MIOT Hospitals for advanced investigations. After a detailed evaluation, doctors diagnosed him with:

• Large Ventricular Septal Defect (Large VSD Shunt)

• Dysplastic Mitral Valve with Grade II Mitral Regurgitation (MR)

• Pulmonary Hypertension

Due to the seriousness of his condition, the medical team has advised early VSD Closure along with Mitral Valve Repair. Without timely surgery, Nilan faces a significant risk of developing irreversible complications that could severely affect his quality of life.

The estimated cost of the life-saving surgery, including hospitalisation, ICU care, investigations, medicines, and post-operative treatment, is ₹3,50,000.

Nilan's father, Mr. Cendrayan, is a daily-wage carpenter who earns approximately ₹400 per day only when work is available. His employment is highly irregular, and many days pass without any income. As the family's sole breadwinner, he struggles to provide even the basic necessities for his family. Raising ₹3.5 lakh for his son's urgent heart surgery is simply beyond their means.

Today, this young family stands at a crossroads. A timely surgery can give little Nilan the chance to live a healthy childhood, attend school, play with friends, and grow up without the constant burden of a life-threatening heart condition.
