Help Save Little Gowtham's Heart – A Brave Child Fighting Since Birth

Gowtham, a young boy from Thiruvallur district, is the only son of Ms. Kavitha and is currently studying in Class I at a Government School. Born prematurely at just 34 weeks of gestation, Gowtham entered the world with a challenging start. He was diagnosed with a complex congenital heart disease along with a congenital deformity of his right upper limb, making his journey far more difficult than that of most children his age.

Despite these challenges, Gowtham has shown remarkable strength throughout his life. Since birth, he has undergone multiple medical evaluations and procedures in the hope of achieving a healthy future.

In July 2022, doctors diagnosed him with pulmonary arterial and venous hypertension, following which he underwent Pulmonary Artery (PA) Banding, Atrial Septectomy, and Division of the Ductal Ligament. More recently, in March 2026, he underwent a cardiac catheterization for further assessment. Based on the latest evaluation, his treating team at MIOT Hospitals has advised him to undergo another major corrective heart surgery involving PA Banding, Atrial Septectomy, and Left Pulmonary Artery (LPA) Plasty to improve his heart function and give him the chance to live a healthier life.

The estimated cost of this life-saving surgery is ₹3,50,000, covering the surgery, ICU care, hospital stay, investigations, medications, and post-operative treatment.

Sadly, Gowtham's family is facing overwhelming financial hardship. His father abandoned the family because of Gowtham's prolonged medical condition. His mother, Ms. Kavitha, is battling diabetes and suffers from severe vision impairment, making it extremely difficult for her to work and support the family. She now lives with her elderly mother, who helps care for Gowtham. Together, they struggle to meet even their basic daily needs and have no means to arrange the funds required for his surgery.
