Help Save 4-Month-Old Baby Dhanusri's Tiny Heart

After enduring the unimaginable pain of losing two babies, they prayed for another chance. When Dhanusri was born, their hearts were filled with hope that they could finally watch their child grow up healthy and happy.

Baby Dhanusri K is just four months old, yet she is already fighting a life-threatening congenital heart disease. Born in a Government Hospital in Chennai, she should be spending her days growing, smiling, and discovering the world. Instead, her family has spent the past few months moving from one hospital to another, desperately searching for a way to save her life.

When Dhanusri was only two months old, she developed severe breathing difficulty along with persistent cold and cough. Her worried parents rushed her to several Government Hospitals, where she received treatment and medications. Despite continuous medical care, her condition did not improve.

Hope came when Dhanusri attended a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at Stanley Medical College Hospital. During the screening, doctors suspected a congenital heart defect and immediately referred her to MIOT Hospitals for further evaluation.

After detailed investigations, Dhanusri was diagnosed with a Large Subaortic Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) with Hyperkinetic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. This serious condition allows abnormal blood flow through her heart, forcing her tiny lungs and heart to work much harder than normal. Without timely surgery, it can lead to irreversible damage to her heart and lungs and may become life-threatening.

To save her life and give her a healthy future, the medical team has advised early surgical closure of the VSD.

The estimated cost of the surgery is ₹3,00,000 (Rupees Three Lakhs only), covering the expenses for surgery, ICU care, hospital stay, investigations, medicines, and post-operative treatment.

Dhanusri's father, Mr. Karthik, works as an auto mechanic technician and earns approximately ₹24,000 per month. He is the sole breadwinner of the family and also supports the education of their elder child. For this humble family, arranging ₹3,00,000 within a short period is simply impossible.
