At just four months old, little Hariharan V. T. has already spent much of his young life fighting a serious heart condition.
Hariharan, from Royapuram, Chennai, was born prematurely at a Government Hospital. His first days of life were not easy—he required hospitalization for 12 days immediately after birth.
When he was around one month old, his parents took him for a medical review. Instead of returning home reassured, they received news no parent is prepared to hear: their tiny baby had a congenital heart disease.
Hariharan was kept under regular medical follow-up and was later advised to attend a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at Stanley Government Hospital. After the initial investigations, doctors referred him to MIOT Hospitals for detailed evaluation and treatment.
Further investigations revealed that Hariharan is suffering from a rare and complex congenital heart condition involving:
Scimitar Syndrome – PAPVC
Hypoplastic right lung
Aortopulmonary collateral vessel
Moderate-sized Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA)
Considering the complexity of his condition and its impact on his heart and lung circulation, doctors have advised early cardiac intervention to prevent further complications.
Hariharan needs to undergo cardiac catheterization with occlusion of the abnormal aortopulmonary collateral vessel and closure of the PDA.
The estimated cost of Hariharan's treatment is ₹3,00,000, including the cardiac procedure, ICU care, hospital stay, investigations and medications.
His father, Mr. Thirunavukarasu, works as a reception assistant at a hostel, earning approximately ₹27,000 per month. He is the sole earning member of the family.
His income is already stretched to meet the family's basic day-to-day needs. Arranging ₹3 lakh for his four-month-old baby's treatment is far beyond what he can manage alone.
For Hariharan's parents, what should have been the happiest months of their lives have instead been filled with hospital visits, medical tests and uncertainty.
Their only wish is to see their little boy receive the treatment he needs, recover, and grow up healthy.
Hariharan is only four months old. He cannot understand why his tiny heart and lungs are struggling or why he has already had to spend so much time in hospitals.
But together, we can help change what comes next.
Your contribution—₹500, ₹1,000, ₹5,000 or any amount you can afford—can bring Hariharan closer to the cardiac treatment he urgently needs.
