We are delighted to share a wonderful update about little Dharshini — her heart procedure was successfully completed, and she was discharged from the hospital last Saturday after making a good recovery.
At just 3 years and 8 months old, Dharshini had been living with a congenital heart condition since she was only 45 days old. Doctors diagnosed her with a Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) and advised a PDA device closure procedure to protect her heart and give her the opportunity to grow up healthy.
With your generous support, Dharshini successfully underwent the recommended heart procedure. Following the procedure, she was closely monitored by the medical team. After showing good improvement and recovery, doctors declared her fit for discharge, and she returned home with her family last Saturday.
For Dharshini's father, a daily-wage agricultural labourer earning around ₹300 per day, arranging the ₹1,40,000 required for his daughter's treatment was far beyond his means. Your kindness turned his hope of giving his daughter a healthier heart into reality.

With your generous support and heartfelt prayers, Dharshini's hospital admission has been scheduled for Monday, 3rd August, marking a significant step towards her long-awaited heart treatment.
Following her admission, the medical team will carry out the necessary medical evaluations and investigations before proceeding with her treatment. We will continue to keep you informed about her progress and share further updates in the coming days.

Help 3-Year-Old Dharshini Get the Heart Procedure She Urgently Needs
Three-year-eight-month-old Dharshini from Dharmapuri District has been fighting a silent battle since infancy.
When Dharshini was just 45 days old, she was admitted to the hospital with a severe respiratory infection. During her treatment, doctors discovered that she was born with a congenital heart disease. While her parents were devastated by the diagnosis, their financial hardship made it impossible to pursue the treatment she desperately needed. Since then, they have lived each day hoping for a chance to save their daughter's heart.
Recently, a Village Health Nurse guided Dharshini's family to attend a free paediatric cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at the Government Hospital, Dharmapuri. Following the initial screening, she was referred to MIOT Hospitals for a comprehensive evaluation.
After detailed investigations, doctors diagnosed Dharshini with a small Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) with left-to-right shunt along with a small posterior muscular Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). To prevent future complications and ensure a healthy life, her treating cardiologist has strongly recommended an elective PDA device closure procedure.
The total cost of the procedure, including hospitalization, investigations, medicines, and post-operative care, is ₹1,40,000.
For Dharshini's family, this amount is simply beyond reach.
Her father is a daily-wage agricultural labourer, earning around ₹300 a day only when work is available. As the family's sole breadwinner, his meagre income barely covers their daily necessities, leaving no possibility of saving for a life-saving heart procedure. With no financial support or alternative source of income, the family is struggling to give their little girl the treatment she urgently needs.
Today, Dharshini has a real opportunity to overcome her heart condition—but she cannot do it alone.
