Dear Donors/ Supporters,
Vijay and Kalaivani, a hardworking couple from Cuddalore, were overjoyed when they learned they were expecting their first child. However, their happiness was clouded by the news that their baby would be born with serious heart issues. Kalaivani, in her last trimester, faced immense stress during delivery, worrying about her baby's health.
Their son, Siddharath, seemed healthy for the first five months of his life. But one day, he suddenly turned blue, sending the young couple into a panic. Rushing to their doctor, they received the devastating diagnosis: Siddharath had Transposition of great arteries, along with moderate oversized VSD, Subvalvar, and valvar PS.
The doctor recommended urgent treatment and advised them to attend the Pediatric cardiology camp at Cuddalore Government Hospital. With Siddharath's condition deteriorating rapidly, the doctors stressed the importance of performing a series of critical procedures as soon as possible.
Siddharath was scheduled for Cardiac Catheterization followed by Open Heart surgery, which included Arterial switch operation, VSD Closure, LVOT resection/Senning procedure, and Relief of LVOT Obstruction. The estimated cost for the comprehensive treatment, covering surgery, ICU & Hospital stay, Post-op investigations, and medications, amounted to Rs. 4,40,000.
Vijay, a dedicated fisherman, braves the sea every day to provide for his family. His earnings fluctuate, ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 on good days, while some days yield no income at all. With his father no longer able to work, Vijay shoulders the responsibility of supporting the entire family.
Despite the financial strain and uncertainty, Vijay remains determined to ensure Siddharath receives the necessary medical care. He knows that every rupee counts and is exploring every possible avenue to gather the required funds for his son's treatment. The love and resilience of this family in the face of adversity serve as a beacon of hope for their community, inspiring compassion and solidarity.
