Two-year-and-four-month-old Venkatraman J from Tirupathur district has spent most of his young life battling a serious heart condition. When he was just six months old, his parents received heartbreaking news — doctors at the Government Hospital diagnosed him with congenital heart disease.

Since then, his parents have been living each day in fear and hope — fear of losing their little boy, and hope that one day, he could run, laugh, and play like other children.

During a recent free cardiac screening camp organized by MIOT Hospitals, further tests confirmed that Venkatraman has a large ASD shunt with a Fenestrated Interatrial Septum and multiple defects. The doctors have advised an elective ASD surgical closure, estimated to cost Rs. 2,60,000.

For his father, Mr. Jothi, who works as a daily wage laborer doing aari embroidery work, earning around Rs. 500 a day, this amount is far beyond reach. Some days, there is no work at all. His mother stays home to care for Venkatraman, who often gasps for breath and tires easily. They have already sold small household items and borrowed from neighbors to afford basic treatment — but now, they have nowhere else to turn.

With trembling voices, his parents say,

“We dream of seeing our little boy run around happily, calling us Amma and Appa with joy. We only wish for a normal life for him — one without hospital visits and pain. Please help us make that dream come true.”
