Five-year-and-four-month-old Srivari, a bright and cheerful little boy from Villupuram, is now fighting a battle that no child should ever face. A Class I student, he was once full of laughter and energy — running around, playing, and filling his small home with joy. But a few months ago, life took a heartbreaking turn for this innocent child and his family.

In May 2025, Srivari suddenly developed a severe fever and persistent cough. His worried parents took him to a nearby private clinic, where doctors, after initial tests, grew concerned about his heart and referred him to MIOT Hospitals, Chennai for a detailed evaluation.

After multiple investigations, doctors delivered the shocking news — Srivari has a rare heart condition called Coronary Cameral Fistula from RCA to RA, a defect that causes the blood to flow abnormally within the heart, putting tremendous strain on it. If left untreated, this condition can lead to serious complications and even become life-threatening.

The doctors have recommended a specialized, minimally invasive procedure called Transcatheter Occlusion of the Fistula using a Vascular Plug, which can correct the defect and save Srivari’s life without the need for open-heart surgery. The total estimated cost for the procedure, including ICU care, investigations, and medications, amounts to Rs. 2,00,000/-.

For Srivari’s father, Mr. Pavadai, an agricultural labourer who toils in the fields every day under the scorching sun to earn a meagre daily wage, this amount is unimaginable. His earnings barely cover the family’s food and basic needs. Yet, like every father, his only wish is to see his son healthy again — to see him smile, play, and grow up like other children.

But today, Mr. Pavadai stands helpless, with tears in his eyes, watching his little boy struggle — not because the treatment isn’t available, but because he simply cannot afford it.
