Saranya Shree is a bright 15-year-old girl studying in a Government School. Like any other teenager, she dreams of completing her education, supporting her family, and building a better future. But today, her dreams have been put on hold because of a serious heart condition that threatens her young life.

Saranya comes from a humble family of four. Her father, Mr. Murugan, works in a packers company and earns only Rs. 13,000 per month, while her mother, Mrs. Pushpa, is a homemaker. They live a simple life, struggling each month to meet basic needs. Any unexpected medical expense is far beyond their reach.

In July, during a health camp at her school, doctors noticed worrying signs in Saranya’s heart. She was referred to KMC, Chennai for further evaluation. Later, at another camp conducted by MIOT Hospital, detailed tests confirmed that she is suffering from small to moderate OS ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) – a hole in the heart.

Doctors have advised her to undergo an elective device closure of ASD, a procedure that is essential to prevent future complications and give her a chance at a healthy life.

The cost of the surgery is Rs. 2,00,000 — an amount her family simply cannot afford.

For a family already struggling to manage basic household expenses, arranging such a large amount is impossible. Yet, without this surgery, Saranya’s future, her dreams of completing her schooling, and even her ability to lead a normal life are at risk.
