Rithish is a 15-year-old boy from Dharmapuri district who has just completed his 10th board examinations. Like any student his age, he dreams of pursuing Biology and Mathematics and building a bright and meaningful future. However, behind these dreams lies a painful reality. Since the age of one, Rithish has been battling Tetralogy of Fallot, a severe congenital heart condition. Due to extreme financial hardship, his family could not afford complete treatment during his early years. In 2018, he underwent a temporary life-saving procedure (BT shunt), which helped him survive—but it was not a permanent solution.
Recently, during a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at Dharmapuri Government Hospital, his condition was reassessed. He was advised to undergo further evaluation at MIOT Hospitals. After detailed medical examination, doctors have now recommended an urgent and definitive surgery: Intracardiac repair with RV–PA conduit and removal of the previous shunt The estimated cost of this life-saving surgery is: ₹4,50,000A Family in Distress Rithish’s father is a daily wage labourer, struggling to meet even the basic needs of the family. Arranging such a large amount is beyond their means.
