After her successful heart surgery, she was supposed to be discharged from the hospital yesterday. However, soon after, she developed complications and stopped taking feeds, which caused concern to the medical team. She has been readmitted to the ICU today for close monitoring and further treatment.

At present, Baby Hanjana Sri is in a serious condition, and her parents are deeply anxious as she continues to fight for recovery. The doctors are doing their best to stabilize her.

Baby Hanjana Sri. K M, just 9 months old from Dharmapuri district, has been fighting a life-threatening congenital heart disease since birth.

When she was only 13 days old, she developed a high fever and was rushed to a private hospital. After several tests, her parents were devastated to hear that their newborn had a serious heart problem.

Since then, little Hanjana Sri has been struggling with poor weight gain and difficulty in feeding, surviving only with the help of medications. Her parents, desperate to save her, have taken her to multiple hospitals, hoping for a cure.

Recently, during a free cardiac screening camp at MIOT Hospitals, she was diagnosed with:

• Large VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect)

• Severe Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension

• Small PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale)

The doctors at MIOT have recommended early elective open-heart surgery (VSD & ASD closure). The surgery is crucial to save her life and is estimated to cost ₹3,00,000.

Her father, Mr. Muralidharan, works as a daily wage labourer in a lorry workshop, earning just ₹700 a day. With his meagre income, he struggles to provide for the family and manage the education of their elder child. Finding such a huge sum for surgery is far beyond his means.

A Plea from Her Parents

“We never imagined that our little girl would have to fight for her life so soon. Every day we see her struggling to breathe and feed, and it breaks our hearts. As parents, we only dream of seeing her grow up healthy, play, and go to school like other children. But without this surgery, her life is at risk. We humbly request your kind help to save our daughter.”
