Baby Geethalakshmi V, aged just 1 year and 2 months, from Thiruvannamalai District, is fighting a serious congenital heart disease that requires urgent surgical intervention.

Geethalakshmi is the only daughter of Mr. Venkatesan and Mrs. Rajalakshmi. She was born in a Government Hospital and, during infancy, began experiencing symptoms such as poor weight gain, recurrent respiratory infections, and a cardiac murmur. Following medical evaluations, she has been receiving continuous treatment and medications.

During a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at the Government Hospital, Tiruvannamalai, she was identified and referred for further evaluation. Subsequent investigations at MIOT Hospitals revealed that Baby Geethalakshmi is suffering from a Moderate-sized Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) with RCC prolapse and Mild Aortic Regurgitation (AR).

Doctors have advised her to undergo VSD Closure along with Aortic Valve Repair at the earliest to prevent further complications and ensure a healthy future.

The estimated cost of surgery and associated treatment is Rs. 3,00,000.

Baby Geethalakshmi's father works as an executive in a shoe company and earns a modest monthly income of only Rs. 15,000 per month. With such limited financial resources, the family is unable to bear the huge medical expenses required for their daughter's life-saving surgery.
