A Tiny Life, A Fragile Heart, A Hope Waiting to Be Saved

Dhanuvarsha is only 1 year and 4 months old, but her life has already been marked by pain, uncertainty, and countless hospital visits. Born in Dharmapuri district, she has never known the comfort of a healthy childhood.

At just 2 months old, Dhanuvarsha began struggling to breathe. Alarmed, her parents rushed her to a hospital, where they received devastating news — their baby had a hole in her heart. While other infants gained weight and strength, Dhanuvarsha grew weaker with time. Her tiny body failed to gain weight, as her heart worked relentlessly just to keep her alive.

Her parents, uneducated and from an extremely poor background, carried her from one government hospital to another, clinging to hope. Each visit ended in disappointment. Doctors explained that her low body weight and poor growth made surgery too risky. With every passing month, her condition worsened, and her parents watched helplessly, unable to understand why their child continued to suffer.

A turning point came when a Village Health Nurse noticed Dhanuvarsha’s condition and referred her to a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at Dharmapuri Government Hospital. For the first time, the family felt a sense of hope.

After thorough medical investigations at MIOT Hospitals, Dhanuvarsha was diagnosed with Large Perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) with Severe Hyperkinetic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) — a serious and life-threatening heart condition. Doctors have advised an elective VSD closure surgery as the only way to save her life and give her a chance to grow normally. The estimated cost of the surgery is ₹2,80,000, an amount unimaginable for her family.

Dhanuvarsha’s father, Mr. Krishnan, survives on daily-wage labor, taking up any work he can find. With no fixed income and no savings, he struggles each day just to feed his family. Arranging funds for a life-saving heart surgery is far beyond their means.

Today, Dhanuvarsha’s future depends on timely medical care and the kindness of people who choose to stand with her. Without surgery, her fragile heart will continue to fail. With your support, she can breathe freely, gain strength, and experience the childhood she has been denied.
