Help 8-Year-Old Aishwarya Complete the Next Stage of Her Heart Treatment

Eight-year-old Aishwarya from Kallakurichi, Villupuram District, has been fighting a complex congenital heart condition since before she was born.

During the eighth month of her mother Ms. Parameshwari’s pregnancy, an anomaly scan revealed that Aishwarya had a serious heart defect. She was delivered at a Government Hospital and required hospitalization for 16 days after birth. She was later referred to MIOT Hospitals for specialized cardiac evaluation and treatment.

Following detailed investigations, Aishwarya was diagnosed with Dextrocardia, Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV), Pulmonary Atresia, and non-confluent branch pulmonary arteries — a complex combination of congenital heart defects requiring multiple stages of treatment.

A Childhood Filled With Heart Surgeries

Aishwarya has already endured several major cardiac procedures at a very young age. She underwent central shunt surgery in 2018, followed by a Glenn procedure in 2019. In 2021, she underwent another complex procedure involving evacuation of a clot from the right pulmonary artery (RPA), enlargement of the hilar RPA using vein-patch plasty, and creation of a central shunt to the RPA.

Despite everything she has gone through, Aishwarya has continued her fight.

During her recent medical review, her treating doctors assessed her current heart condition and advised her to undergo Fontan completion with fenestration. This is a critical and high-risk cardiac surgery and an important next stage in the treatment of her complex heart condition.

Her Family Cannot Face This Financial Burden Alone

The estimated cost of Aishwarya’s surgery is ₹4,75,000.

Her father, Mr. Periyasamy, works as a mason and depends on daily wages to support the family. With their limited income, arranging such a large amount for another major heart surgery is far beyond what the family can manage on their own.
