Ravi, a 7th-grade student at Government Middle School in Yezhil Nagar, faces a challenging health condition that has been causing concerns for his family. Yezhil Nagar and Kannagi Nagar are resettlement colonies established in response to natural disasters, including the devastating tsunami and floods that affected the Chennai region.

In March of this year, Ravi collapsed at school, which was a troubling incident for his family. Ravi, the youngest of five children, has always struggled with his health, often experiencing fatigue and spending more time indoors. This incident prompted the school to conduct its annual health program, during which Ravi was examined and diagnosed with a heart problem. However, his parents, who are not literate, found it difficult to fully comprehend the gravity of his condition, leading to some delays in getting him the necessary medical attention.

Ravi's mother, Saritha, who was becoming increasingly desperate, faced additional challenges as the government hospitals, where he was initially directed for treatment, were quite a distance from their home. Despite their efforts, there was no improvement in Ravi's health. Frustrated and worried, Saritha took her son back to the doctor who initially examined him at school. This time, the doctor suggested they seek medical care at MIOT Hospitals, a recommendation that ultimately led to a more accurate diagnosis.

Ravi has been diagnosed with Rheumatic Heart Disease, severe Mitral Regurgitation, Moderate Pulmonary Hypertension, and he is currently in heart failure. To address this critical condition, Ravi requires an early surgery known as Mitral Valve Repair, which is crucial for his recovery. The estimated cost of the surgery, including the procedure itself, ICU and hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications, amounts to Rs. 3,50,000 (Rupees Three Lakh Fifty Thousand only).

The situation is made even more challenging by the fact that Ravi's father, Kamaraj, has to leave early in the morning for work at a packaging unit in Parrys Corner to support the family financially. Saritha also contributes to the family income by working as a domestic helper. 

Ravi's family is facing a difficult and urgent situation, and they need support to cover the cost of his life-saving surgery. Any assistance, whether through financial contributions or spreading awareness about their situation, would make a significant difference in giving Ravi a chance at a healthier future. Your help can be a ray of hope in the lives of this struggling family and their young son, Ravi.
