Sahaya Antonjesrom, lovingly called Jesrom at home, is a 12-year-old boy who has endured more challenges than most face in a lifetime. Born after four years of anxious anticipation, Jesrom's arrival brought immense joy to his parents, Anna Selvan and Ida. However, their happiness was soon overshadowed by a heartbreaking diagnosis: Jesrom had a congenital heart defect.

In 2012, shortly after his birth, Jesrom underwent his first procedure at just 14 days old, followed by an open-heart surgery at 7 months. For the next eight years, Jesrom thrived, bringing hope and happiness to his family.

In 2020, Jesrom's health took a sudden turn for the worse. The hospital that performed his initial surgeries could no longer provide financial assistance, leaving the family in a dire situation. For the past three years, Jesrom has relied on medication to manage his condition, but his health continues to deteriorate. He struggles to walk even short distances without becoming breathless and often turns blue with minimal exertion. His school, Sacred Heart School, has been incredibly supportive, allowing his mother to assist him with his school bag and navigating stairs. Despite these efforts, Jesrom's condition remains critical.

Jesrom's father, Anna Selvan, 48, is partially literate and worked in a hotel in Kuwait until 2019. Unfortunately, the lockdown left him stranded without pay, forcing him to return to India. Now, he works as a daily wage laborer in construction, laying tiles to support his family. The financial strain has been immense, and the future looks uncertain.

Recently, a neighbor who works at MIOT Hospitals helped the family explore treatment options. An angiogram revealed that Jesrom has a complex congenital heart defect – AV & VA discordance, Pulmonary Atresia, mild ventricular dysfunction, and multiple PAVMS. Doctors have advised a high-risk Fenestrated Fontan completion surgery, with an estimated cost of Rs. 6,00,000 (Rupees Six Lakhs), including surgery, ICU and hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications.

Anna and Ida are desperate and heartbroken. Ida tearfully shared how Jesrom's hands often turn blue, and her pleas for help to save her son are heart-wrenching. The family is in urgent need of financial assistance to afford Jesrom's life-saving surgery.
