Meet Aarthi, a remarkable 15-year-old girl from Trichy district in Tamil Nadu. A dedicated student in Class X at a Government School in Chennai, Aarthi is preparing for her public exams with unwavering determination. Her ultimate dream is to become a teacher, a goal she has embraced with passion and hard work. Yet, a serious health condition threatens to derail her aspirations.

During a routine cardiac screening camp organized by the MIOT team, Aarthi was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition—Large OS ASD (Atrial Septal Defect). Following a detailed consultation at MIOT Hospitals, doctors recommended an urgent ASD closure procedure to prevent severe health complications and ensure her survival.

The estimated cost of Aarthi’s surgery, including the procedure, ICU care, hospital stay, and medications, amounts to Rs. 2,60,000/-. Unfortunately, this cost is far beyond what her family can afford. Aarthi’s father, Mr. Duraisamy, works as a daily-wage farmer in their native village, earning a modest income that barely covers their basic needs. Her mother, Ms. Muthamma, supplements the family’s income by working as a maid in Chennai. Despite their relentless efforts, their combined earnings fall woefully short of what is needed to save their daughter’s life.

This young girl’s future hangs in the balance. Without timely surgery, Aarthi’s condition will worsen, jeopardizing her health and her dreams of becoming a teacher. Her family, already stretched to their limits, is desperately seeking help to give their daughter a fighting chance.
