Nehru Dasan and Priya had come with their 5 month old baby, Kuzhal Arasan, referred by a friend, to try a last consultation at MIOT International.
A young couple who have been through a lot of hardships – Priya lost her father to Kidney failure in which all their families savings were finished. The couple moved out of Nehru’s family home due to dowry problems Priya faced. Nehru, who discontinued his Civil Engineering course due to lack of funds, now works in construction doing Centring. The next obstacle was in starting a family as they realized they had health issues – Nehru had blood issues and Priya was diabetic.
When Priya conceived this time, having been through 2 abortions, they were not willing to terminate the pregnancy although doctors at the government hospital advised them that the baby would face severe health problems soon after birth.
The baby was born at Women and Children Hospital by C section and treatment for the baby started immediately at Children’s Hospital in Egmore.
After facing a lot of negative vibes regarding the baby, they decided to visit MIOT Hospitals and it was the first place that has given the assurance that the baby has a possibility to overcome health issues after surgery. However any more delay will lead to pulmonary issues as well.
Kuzhal Arasan is diagnosed to have Complex Cyanotic Heart Dissease with increased pulmonary hypertension.
He is advised to undergo biventricular repair intra-op. If not feasible, PA band + Septectomy for correction of the same.
Estimate Cost – Rs. 3,65,000/- (Rupees Three Lakh and Sixty Five thousand only) including surgery, ICU & Hospital stay, Post op investigations and medications
While they are prepared for the worst, they just feel that they should do all they can for their little one.
