Keerthana, an 18-year-old from Mangadu, Chennai, has been bravely battling a heart-related illness since birth. She was diagnosed with Ebstein's anomaly and underwent her first heart operation for Tricuspid valve repair and Right BDG in 2009 at the age of three. Despite her health challenges, Keerthana has shown remarkable resilience and determination. Recently, her condition has worsened, and she now suffers from severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR), necessitating urgent medical attention.
Doctors have advised Keerthana to undergo a redo surgery for Tricuspid valve repair to correct her condition. The estimated cost of the procedure is Rs. 3,50,000, which includes the surgery, ICU and hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications. This amount is beyond the financial means of her family, as her father works as a daily laborer.
Despite these hardships, Keerthana has excelled academically, scoring an impressive 485 in her 12th-grade exams. She dreams of continuing her education and achieving great things.
