Dear Donors/Supporters,

Dhanraj, Devadarshan’s father, has been working as a temporary contract staff at HIL, employed as a loader, for the last four years in the hope that he will someday be made permanent.

When Kavita was six months pregnant, a scan revealed serious health issues with the baby. By that time, it was too late to terminate the pregnancy.

The parents recall that at the time of birth, doctors were unsure if the baby would survive beyond the first week. However, Devadarshan seemed to hit normal milestones and has experienced typical growth and development.

Recently, at the age of four, Devadarshan has shown signs of deterioration. He has been losing weight and has lowered energy levels. A recent check-up revealed that he needs surgery.

Devadarshan has been diagnosed with a congenital abnormality of the tricuspid valve (Ebstein variant), moderate tricuspid stenosis (TS), moderate tricuspid regurgitation (TR), mild mitral stenosis (MS), and mild mitral regurgitation (MR). He is advised to undergo elective surgery for tricuspid valve repair and mitral valve repair to correct these issues.

The estimated cost for the surgery, including ICU and hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications, is Rs. 3,00,000 (Rupees Three Lakhs only).
